Denver International Airport

After a break in 2023, we returned to Denver International Airport with a custom designed 9 hole mini golf experience. Unlike the previous years, where we installed the course in the middle of June, this installation took place immediately after Memorial Day so the experience could be ready for the 1st of June and run the entire month of June.

This is a course that takes many hours of design time as we work with the airport and numerous departments within the airport in creating the course design. There has to be proper flow in the Pak on the Plaza between the Jeppesen Terminal and the Westin Hotel as well as for the restaurants that reside on the Park on the Plaza.

One of our signature course designs, this 9 hole experience includes uneven terrain on fairways and the greens, elevation, rock traps, color matched obstacles, a suspended Golden Gate Bridge, redirected putts and foliage on certain holes. This challenging par 27 course was designed to entertain guests while passing through the airport, waiting for a delayed flight which happens quite frequently at Denver International Airport as well as local residents of Denver to come out to the airport and play. Despite a month of severe weather extremes, over 4,600 guests played on the mini golf course.

The branding for the 2024 mini golf experience included DEN turf logos with the iconic tented rooftops. A branded Skeeball Ball Hole which collects the balls at the end of the experience was the 9th hole. Further branding included a color match blue steel bridge, a blue loop de loop and a pristine white Ant Hill. Another obstacle that was not branded since it is so recognizable was The Golden Gate Bridge which was suspended between two elevated fairways with blue rocks underneath it for players to putt over.

Among the unique & entertaining challenges that were created for this course was an elevated double cup hole where the ball proceeds up a ramp and then a player can choose which cup to putt into for it to go down to the next level, two elevations leading to the Golden Gate Bridge and then descending to the hole, an elevated fairway with two cups to choose from which then leads to a bank shot fairway and traps that had rocks as well as plants placed in them.

The greens for the holes included roughs and uneven terrains around the cups which made each player strategically think out there putts when approaching the greens. We often witnessed players walking each hole prior to starting that hole. They were thinking on how best to play it and wondered of its unique design. Additionally, guests would take photos of themselves at certain holes while playing. That was exactly we were seeking when creating this experience; passengers taking their time, relaxing and smiling while enjoying a round of mini golf instead of complaining that their flight was delayed.
